Dr. Khalek Kirkland is the Principal of THE Boys Prep Bronx Elementary. In this role he is responsible for the overall delivery of the mission of the school and ensuring the 700+ boys in grades K-8 are on a predictive path to college completion.

Dr. Kirkland attended Fordham University where he obtained his doctorate in Education Administration. His dissertation centered around the best classroom structures for students with disabilities, and will be instrumental in our commitment to providing all students with equitable and effective learning opportunities. Prior to joining Boys Prep, Khalek served as Head of School at both Quest Academy in Illinois and The SEED School in Maryland. He also served as Senior Director of Leadership for the NYC Department of Education where he recruited, trained and placed new principals throughout NYC.

Dr. Kirkland started his career in education at Ronald Edmonds Learning Center where he served as math teacher, assistant principal and principal.
